Our Cat/Kitten Rescue
All cats in the lounge, as well as the lounge itself, are owned and cared for by Southern Arizona Cat Rescue. We are nonprofit cat only rescue that has adopted out around 600 cats per year since our fruition in Oct 2019. Prior to opening Hunter's Kitten Lounge, we primarily focused on neonatal kittens and moms with babies, helping other ages as we could. With the opening of the lounge we have been able to save even more lives and expand our reach to not only more kittens, but teens, adults and seniors.
Who is at the Lounge?
Hunter's Kitten Lounge (HKL) houses between 20-30 cats at a time. All cats in our Lounge are spayed/neutered, vaccinated for FRCP and Rabies, dewormed, as well as have tested negative for FELV (feline leukemia virus). FIV (feline immunodeficiency virus) positive cats can live at the lounge unless aggressive. All cats in the lounge are over 3 months old, as younger kittens cannot have their rabies vaccines yet, and are frankly too tiny to free roam in this space.

How to Adopt Cats at the Lounge
If you're interested in adopting one of our HKL cats or kittens, there are 2 ways to go about it!
The first (and most fun), schedule a visit to the lounge. Come meet all of our kitties, bring family or friends and see who you fall in love with. If you do wish to adopt during your visit, our staff can help you. You'll be asked to complete an application and staff with connect with you on if the cat will be a good fit for your home.
The second option is to complete an application for the specific cat your interested in on the SACR application page once the application is received we will connect with you, do a phone call to chat about the kitty and if it seems they will be a good fit for your home, we will schedule a time for you to come meet them!
We do not do same-day adoptions. Adopting a cat can be a 20 year emotional and financial commitment so we ask that you go home and sleep on it to make sure it is the best decision for you and the cat.
